[There are a lot of 'don't's going on right now. Don't say anything embarrassing or creepy. Don't act weird. Don't show how surprising it is that anyone is swiping at all.]
[He's not even sure how to respond to this. Men have never hit on him before. Of course, women really haven't either, but that's somehow different. Christ he needs to take some classes.
But having Mitaka swipe a check on him either means the guy is interested or his finger slipped, so it's worth a shot to at least figure out which and why. That and he did have a quota of sorts to fill. Maybe he'll at least get a friend out of it.]
[He doesn't even take it personally. But it's considerate to respond in kind isn't it? Who knows. At least now they won't show up on each other's Cuddlr accounts.]
Back home I worked for the biggest search engine company in the world. Here I'm mostly working on personal projects, and getting a really good music shop up to technological speed.
It does seem that way. I think the prospect of learning new technology has a habit of drawing in or keeping our attention. And there's a lot of different styles and types of tech and code here. More than you would likely find on any one world any of us seem to come from.
[What the heck. He was making friends with a vampire. One more undead wouldn't kill him. Right? Right?? At least he's getting used to people of either gender responding enough not to be too awkward about things.]

That's up to you really. I've seen it go different ways.
Good choice. Nobody's Empire is good, though I'm still on the fence about I Want the World to Stop. I like the style to their music, though. It's nice and smooth.
A Hacktivist? That sounds like you would have a lot of stories to tell over drinks, though they don't have to be over that if you have other preferred topics. I am also fond of art.
That's an interesting phrase you have on your profile. Is the translation the internet gives me correct: "I shine, not burn"?

From what I've seen there seems to be a lot more tech types around here than I realized. I bet you'd get along with a friend of mine.
( not to say that they wouldn't, of course, but like. noah knows computer stuff and emma still struggles to sync her iphone )
months later but about 2 days for him. So sorry Emma.

Computer programming, I gather?
Many months later: Long Island man finds his phone again.
I like to see what I can build and how far it can go or grow.

Aeronautics and Chess? I'm not great at Chess but I can play decently when it's not against my laptop and I've never been a sore loser.
I'd love to hear more about the engineering you do, though. I've always had a love for software.
Do you like music, and if yes, favorite kind/band?

<Hi? Am I supposed to talk first?
I really enjoy Depeche Mode. Though I'm more of a Belle & Sebastian sort.
It's okay, Kieren. Everyone has to have a first time.

They're a band. One of my favorites in fact, though since coming here I've gained even more.
I've got most of their music on my laptop. Here, you can give them a listen if you like.
