Caleb's life summarized in one photo:
Caleb lived his life as something of a shut-in tech geek. While his coworkers were fond of him, he spent most of his time alone and often found social situations slightly awkward to be a part of. At work he wore headphones to keep himself immersed, and he was known to the CEO of the company he worked for as an exceptional coder and dedicated worker.
I heard you like cute gifs.26 year old coder at Bluebook (An internet-search giant similar to Google) Something of a genius when it comes to coding and technology. Won a fake lottery to spend a week with Bluebook CEO Nathan Bateman at his secluded house in the mountains He was later told he was there to administer a Turing test to prove Ava's sentience. He was actually there to see if Ava was capable of manipulating human emotions enough to convince Caleb she had them and convince him to help her escape. He becomes convinced that Nathan is corrupt and dangerous He begins to believe that Nathan is abusing Ava and keeping her prisoner. He gets Nathan drunk and reprograms his security systems. After discovering Nathan's housekeeper and helper Kyoko is also an AI robot, Caleb begins to question if he is even human or just another of Nathan's AIs. He even goes so far as to cut himself open to make sure wires and frames aren't lingering under his skin. He then helps Ava to escape after which she kills Nathan, betrays Caleb and locks him into the same facility he had just helped her escape from.
Caleb has been described as an aloof genius. Social encounters are not his strongest suit. As somewhat of a workaholic he immerses himself deeply into his work and takes it seriously. He has a lot of pride in what he does. Not his job specifically, but his skills as a programmer. Unfortunately for Caleb he is both a romantic and a virgin. His somewhat aloof nature and his tendency to choose work over leisure time have worked against him as far as women are concerned.
Despite this, Caleb is actually a very good conversationalist and apparently well liked around his work. He displays a touch of modesty when he 'wins' the competition to spend a week with the CEO of the company he works for. Caleb's true love lies in computers and code, but he craves companionship. This becomes increasingly evident in the way he latches on to Ava and even at times Nathan. Without his work to focus on, he finds himself thrown into two very different social situations.
He initially respects and even idolizes Nathan, but as he gets to know the man he sees him as a drunk and a manipulative man willing to bend all the rules to get what he wants and disturbingly abusive in the way he treats and uses both Ava and Kyoko. Caleb isn't directly confrontational beyond a few short and impassioned arguments against Nathan's actions. Instead, he takes a more covert route and goes behind Nathan's back, even going so far as to intentionally get the man drunk out of his mind so Caleb could reprogram the security system and investigate.
When interacting with Nathan in the beginning, and when interacting with Ava and Kyoko, Caleb proves to be both naive and trusting. He interacts with all three of them with a kind and curious attitude. Though he initially treats Ava as a computer, when she begins expressing emotions and appearing to be upset by his methods he changes tune quickly, becoming respectful, kind and sympathetic to her. Caleb's empathy pushes him far enough that he becomes willing to go to far more sinister lengths to help 'save' Ava from Nathan.
Prior to the movie, Caleb wasn't a paranoid man, but after the deception of both Nathan and Ava, as well as how easily Ava managed to convince him of emotions she apparently didn't have, he developed a more pronounced issue. He became distrustful of Nathan and even his own mind. He even began to doubt whether or not he was human himself after Kyoko's reveal that she was a robot all along.
INCENTIVE:If offered an opportunity, Caleb would willingly go along with this for two major reasons. The first being that without an escape he'd be trapped in a secure facility with no food or way out, where he only had dismantled robots and a dead body for company. The second being that Caleb is a virgin who wants nothing more than to form a connection with someone. After being betrayed and possibly implicated in the murder of his former employer, Caleb would be more than willing to leave it all behind for Eudio, even if the escape was only temporary. The only incentive he would need on his return would be to be deposited outside of Nathan's home and lab, preferably near civilization.
FIT:Caleb craves companionship. He's a lonely young man desperate enough for someone to care about him that he was willing to let a robotic AI manipulate him on the chance that she might actually be capable of having feelings for him. He is a virgin, but not for lack of trying, and while he would likely prefer to form emotional connections before physical ones, he has no hang ups in regards to consensual sexual situations. While never explicitly referenced it was also hinted at that he would have been willing to make things work with a robotic woman had she not betrayed him.
CONSENT:Caleb has never broken consent. He expressed discomfort with Nathan's flippancy in regards to even his robots. Even AI units allegedly programmed to have sex as a part of their existence require consent in his opinion. He is not the sort to engage in anything non-consensual with regards to sex. That being said, he is guilty of watching Ava get dressed/undressed on camera. The difference being that Ava knew the cameras were there.

Job hunting on the networkI'm having a hard time getting a good read on what companies, specifically tech-based ones, can be found in this city. Do resumes work in the classic style here? I can't imagine phone calls to my previous places of employment could get through to them, so I have to admit I'm curious how we're meant to go about this.
ANYTHING ELSE?
I can prove my skills in person or through a phone or computer. That would be a lot more productive than a paper listing companies and employers who don't exist here, at least. But none of this helps me if I can't find the right type of company to apply to. I'm a programmer. I'm good with code and a large variety of computer languages and I'm a fast learner.
I'm not just looking for a quick cash solution. I want to actually do something of use beyond the obvious reason we're here. We all have to have something to do with the rest of our time. Right?
